We went to Monkey World on our week away in Weymouth last year which was great, but it was only monkeys haha. Jack loved taking loads of photos, so we knew a proper zoo would be even better. We have two close to us which are sister zoos. There's Port Lympne which is more of a safari park and then Howletts which is where we visited. The best part of it is the ticket we got (which was a pretty good price as it was) is a year pass, so we can come back again as many times as we like in a year!
We were very lucky with the weather thankfully and packed our own little picnic full of goodies, although there are a number of cafes and a sit down restaurant on offer. Loads of families had the same idea as us, so it was lovely sitting around watching the children play whilst enjoying our food.
There were so many animals to see! We brought Sophie the Giraffe with us but unfortunately these are only at Port Lympe, but she got lots of cuddles from Indie anyway haha. There were countless monkeys, big cats, elephants and smaller animals to see. My favourite was definitely the elephants, they're just soo cute!
We had a fantastic day out, and both of us caught the sun... how we don't know haha, typical English weather! Indie was such a good girly too and loved looking around at what was going on, she especially enjoyed watching Jack do impressions of the monkeys haha!
Here are some pictures from our trip:
