18 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

8.3.15

Hello 18 weeks baby boy! You're now the size of a sweet potato and have grown to around 5.6 inches, weighing 6.7 ounces! You are now kicking, flexing, reaching and maybe even sucking your thumb (although I kinda hope not that one, I don't want you to be a thumb sucker like I was haha).

This week has been a rough one if I'm honest; pregnancy the second time around is definitely a whole lot harder! I'm still waiting for the 'glow' to arrive. Although I've been blessed with red, dry skin and dull awful hair instead... lucky me!

Sleeping has been pretty rough too. I'm finding it so hard to get comfortable and even when I do I'm tossing and turning constantly. I really need to get myself a pregnancy pillow but just keep forgetting to do it.

My back has been bloody awful this week too, as have my hips. If I stand for too long at work they really begin to ache and I have to sit down. I managed to make it until 30ish week last time before I had to sit down more, so this is definitely unexpected. On Thursday I carried Indiana way too much and too far and my back is paying me back for it now. On Friday just sitting up or moving left me in SO much pain. I'm off to town today to invest in a bump support band to see if that helps at all.

  2. Sorry you've had such a tough week lovely. I know this pillow is recommended because you've got the wedge too, it's the one I'll be getting if we gave a second! http://beebiesbabystore.com/lazy-days-essential-pregnancy-support-pack/ I hope things get easier soon xx

  3. I had a pillow set from Argos, a long pillow and a wedge, they were so comfy, really helped because I was absolutely bloody massive! Plus the set was like £14.99! Amazing when I almost spent £50 on a fancy one from mother care. Xx

I'm sorry you had a tough week though lovely!!!
I can relate with the sore back, I don't think we are gonna be able to avoid it with having to carry our little ones I wish there was a solution to it!!!
Hope this week is better for you! Xx

  6. Aw I feel for you, I know that pain all too well and rubbish that it is troubling you so early! May be worth a chat to your midwife, I got referred for physio at the hospital and they gave me a fab bump support, much better than the one I bought myself! Hope things improve for you! Thanks for linking with #MaternityMondays xx

  9. I remember how much harder pregnancy was the second time around - you just can't rest like you did with your first. Sorry to hear that you've been quite uncomfortable this week and hope you find a good pregnancy pillow to help make you more comfy again.

  10. I feel your pain! I found I got achy and uncomfortable a lot sooner with my second as well! I use one of those v-pillows rather than a proper maternity pillow and it works fine for me!
Over here from the #MaternityMatters linky :)
