Summer Infant 3 Stage SuperSeat | Review

Tuesday, 1 March 2016

We had a number of different baby seats when Indiana was a baby. She didn't really like any of them, and they all seemed pretty pricey for something she could only use for a few months too. We didn't even bother looking when expecting Parker as we thought we'd just come across the same problem! However we recently found a seat that seems to be practically perfect - the Summer Infant 3 Stage SuperSeat.

The SuperSeat is a three-in-one seat that combines an activity seat with a booster seat! Stage one is a soft support seat. Suitable from 12lbs (3/4 months), the soft foam insert creates a comfortable seat for baby, and the high back makes sure they're snug and secure. There is also a 3-point harness too. It's great for helping them learn to sit up and support themselves from an early age. I've also popped Parker in recently for a snack or to feed him if the highchair is dirty.
Stage 2 is an activity seat. The provided activity ring just slides onto the seat, turning the support seat into a place for baby to play and explore! There are 4 toys included - a soft bunny teether, tree shaped spinning rattle, a mirror and a soft squeaky butterfly (this one can be taken off too for playtime out of the seat). It spins in a 360 degree motion, so you can pop any of the toys in-front of them, although they're all easily accessible whichever way the tray is facing. The back also has two cup/snack holders for when your child is a bit older.

Finally stage 3 is your booster seat. This is suitable up to 33lbs (4 years), so this seat really does grow with your child; or in our case we can use it for both Parker and Indiana at the same time! The soft foam insert is easily removed as your child grows too, which makes a really roomy seat. Then just pop on the chair straps (it really was that simple) - these are taped to the bottom of the seat when you get it out of the box - and attach to your chair.

This would be ideal for taking to relatives if they don't have a highchair. It's very lightweight, and the straps are easily adjusted to different lengths. The plastic makes it easy to clean too!

The only negative we've found with the seat is with attaching the activity ring. It can be a little tricky to line up, and getting the final part on (the piece with the snack tray), can be quite stiff. I'm sure the more we use it the easier it will become though, so I'm not so bothered! I love how it grows with your child, as there are lots of other seats out there at a similar price, that can only be used for a few months!

You can purchase the seat from many retailers including Amazon, Argos and Babies R Us. It usually retails for £39.99, but is currently on offer for £29.99 on Amazon! We'd definitely recommend it, and make sure to check out the other designs too. Make sure to check out my video review for a look at it in action too!

Disclaimer - we were sent this seat for the purpose of this review. However all opinions are honest and my own

  3. That looks great, its good that it is quite versatile and can be used with and without the tray, and as a highchair/booster seat. He looks like he is enjoying it anyway! #triedtested
