Every parent wants the best for their child, especially when it comes to their diet. Whether you are breast feeding or formula feeding, getting the right vitamins and nutrients into your baby’s diet is important.

The most recent recommendation is to start weaning at 6 months. From this age babies are growing, moving and changing at such a fast pace, that they need as much help as they can get. Weaning introduces new foods and experiences for your baby. However you can't always guarantee that they're taking in all the right vitamins - especially if you have a baby like mine who loves to throw more of his food than he eats!

Whether you've decided to make the change from breastfeeding to formula, or if you formula fed from the start, SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk is suitable for babies 6 months old and over and can help support your baby through this important stage, and has been developed to complement their mixed weaning diet.

Your baby's iron stores actually start to deplete around 6 months.
SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk is fortified with iron (it actually provides 63% of a baby’s recommended daily intake). Iron helps to support normal cognitive development. SMA® PRO Follow-on milk also contains important minerals such as zinc and iodine.

Us adults know that Omega 3 is important, but this doesn't just apply to us, babies need it too! SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk contains Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids. Alongside this the formula contains vitamin D and calcium. These are essential to help support the normal growth and development of bones; especially during the 6-12 month age, where your baby is learning to crawl, cruise and maybe even walk!

Whether your baby is a weaning pro, or is taking a little longer to enjoy their food, SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk will support them with their weaning journey.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Breast milk is best for babies and breastfeeding should continue for as long as possible. SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk is only suitable for babies over 6 months as part of a mixed diet. It should not be used as a substitute for breast milk during the first 6 months.

  1. I breastfed both my boys but moved on to follow on milk and I'd do it again tomorrow. A fed baby is a happy baby, it doesn't matter the method. Love that this is fortified with everything babies need and I'd definitely consider using it if there is a next time x

  2. We weren't able to breastfeed so knowing that formulas like SMA are supporting baby's growth and development is so reassuring isn't it. Especially when weaning is a bit hit and miss ;-) xx
