Lost My Name | Book Review

Tuesday, 4 October 2016

With my little ones having more unusual names, it's rare to find any personalised items in the shops for them. So when I was contacted by Lost My Name, I just knew they were the products for us.

Lost My Name specialise in beautiful personalised children's books. Each story is different as it's determined by your child's name or location. They then use hand-drawn illustrations to bring the story to life!
"The story follows a courageous child as they track down the missing letters of their name. Along the way they meet lots of marvellous characters, who each give the child a letter from their name. So, for example, a girl called Emily would meet an Elephant, Mermaid, Imp, Lion and Yeti"
Ordering is really simple. We chose the 'Little Girl and Little Boy' option, however there is also a space journey story as well.

You just enter your child's name, the language (they ship to over 150 different countries!), gender and design of the child, and you're on your way. A story is automatically generated, but you can go through and change nearly every letter for a different animal or character. So for example with Indiana's book we could choose either an Aardvark, Alligator or Angel for the letter 'A'.

Once you're happy with the story you decide which format you would like. We chose the original softcover, which retails at £19.99. You can also choose between a keepsake cover (£24.99) or a Deluxe version (£34.99). Shipping is free worldwide.

You can then complete your gift with a dedication. There is already a suggested version given. However you're free to change this completely (you have 400 characters to use) or add / change bits if you wish.

I am absolutely thrilled with the books we received. I do think I prefer Parker's story to Indie's, but I only think that's because he's got a bigger variety of letters in his name - I definitely think they need to add a bigger range of characters!

They are a beautiful keepsake and something I know we will treasure for a long time. There's no need to worry if your child has a shorter name either. They add in a special extra story, which means that all books still work out to be 24 pages long.

They would make a perfect gift for a new baby, a Christening or even a Christmas gift. Something that's made even easier with the option to include gift-wrap for an extra £2.50!

Disclosure - We received two books for the purpose of this review. However all opinions are honest and my own.
