Message in a Bottle | Book Review

Tuesday, 13 December 2016

I'm always on the look out for special keepsakes for the little ones. Something that can be treasured for years to come - even when they're adults. So when I heard the team behind Message in a Bottle were looking for help, I knew instantly I wanted to be involved!

"So we set out to create a book that truly bonds children and adults together like no other. A personalised book with a classic story that would be bursting with adventure and fun. A book in which our personal messages to our loved ones seamlessly became part of the story." -

Message in a Bottle is a story book about the adventures of Kiki, a little bird who wants to deliver a special message. The twist? The special message is written by you! This makes the story one of a kind, as although Kiki will go on a similar adventure in each book, the messages will never be the same.

It's not only a lovely story, but an educational adventure. You and your child will follow Kiki across continents, and meet animals familiar to those territories along the way. From a whale in the ocean to monkeys swinging in the trees - you have to follow the story turning the book this way and that until Kiki makes it to her destination (the address you put in at the beginning!).

Whether you want to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or Christmas, or just want to give your little one (or a relative or friend) a special message, this would make a perfect gift! You can decide the message by yourself, or choose from one of the templates if you need some inspiration. There's also the option to add a picture which is a lovely touch.

We decided to dedicate our book to Indiana, giving her a special message on her third birthday. She absolutely loved reading it together, and was so surprised to find a special message to her from mummy and daddy. I'm hoping she'll treasure it in years to come, and I know it'll be a story we'll read over and over again.

The book retails at £19.95 (or £29.95 for a hardback version), and you can pay an extra £2.50 for personalised gift wrap too. Shipping is completely free within the EU! I do think this is on the pricier side - but for a keepsake that will hopefully be cherished for years to come it's definitely worth it!

Disclosure - We received a copy of the book in exchange for our review. All opinions are honest and my own.

  2. Oh this is so sweet!! I've never seen this before, and I adore personalised books, they're such good keepsakes and how exciting / lovely will it be for them when they start to read themselves.

  9. What a beautiful book. I love books that can be personalised. When I was you I had one about an animal called Harobed (my full name backwards) and lots of details about home. It's so special that you can read over and over again.
