Parker's First Birthday & Birthday Party

So the birthday celebrations are well and truly over, and our gorgeous boy is a one year old! We had the loveliest family day on his actual birthday (the 4th). Starting the day with our tradition of cake for breakfast and opening presents.

I was so pleased Parker kept his birthday crown on as it looked unbelievably cute! As I mentioned before it's from Teddy Bobbins and was one of my favourite birthday purchases for him. I loved the little set up I made for him too - the photos are from Square Snaps and I just grabbed the string and little pegs from Poundland.

After presents were opened and enjoyed, we got ready and headed to soft play. There's nothing Parker loves more at the moment than running around and climbing, so it was definitely a good decision! He looked so gorgeous and grown up in his birthday outfit. His top was from Blueberry Boo Kids, and we got so many lovely comments about it.

We headed to Frankie & Benny's for lunch, which is our favourite family restaurant (and they had a kids eat free offer on!). Another birthday tradition meant Parker got to enjoy his very first taste of chocolate. He LOVED it, and will definitely be a chocolate lover like the rest of us.

We ended the day seeing family, but with both kids not napping all day it was an early night all round! We celebrated all over again on Saturday however, with a picnic in the park style birthday party. The weather couldn't have been better, and it was exactly what I'd imagined when I knew we were having a summer baby.

It was only close family and friends, but it was still so lovely to celebrate with everyone. There was plenty of food, laughter and family time - I couldn't have asked for a better day! Parker was in his element exploring and running around too, so I think he definitely approved.

I asked my mum to make the cake, and she did an amazing job as usual. I got this cake topper from Confetti Day and it added that perfect finishing touch. Parker was so excited to try some he was clambering at my ankles before we'd even sang happy birthday. He did a pretty good job at blowing out the candle with us though!

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes to Parker. He's been thoroughly spoilt and gives slobbery kisses to you all. This first birthday also marks one year of Jack and I parenting two children... high fives to us I think too haha!
