Wigwam Play Tent - A Perfect Gift for Christmas

I've been eyeing up teepees for the little ones for a long time now. Somewhere for them to play in, or to cosy up with a book in - a 'toy' that they can both play with either individually or together. So when Big Game Hunters got in touch and asked if I wanted to review their Wigwam Play Tent of course I said yes!

The design on the canvas was something that appealed to me straight away. Completely unisex and so much fun. The second we popped it up Indiana was pointing out the animals around the outside. It's not too childish either, making it a perfect addition to a bedroom or playroom, as it wouldn't get outgrown quickly. The fabric is also waterproof, so it can be played with indoors or out!

On the subject was 'popping it up', we did actually find it a bit tricky to assemble. The box contains the thick Calico cotton canvas, strong wooden poles, and the connector string with Juniper balls. The instructions are printed on the box, with small drawing to helps. We had no trouble getting the poles in the right place - but getting them to connect correctly (see pictures below) took a number of attempts. It's definitely a job for two people and no distractions!

The play tent has a number of features that make it the perfect gift for little ones:
  • Wipe clean fabric so any dirty marks, spills or mess can easily be wiped away!
  • The door can be closed with velcro, creating a fun and cosy play space for little ones.
  • Traditional wigwam details for exciting imaginative play.
  • Strong and durable - when set up correctly there's no worries of it falling over.
The tent a reasonable size - 1.9m x 1.5m - although it's base does take up quite a bit of room as it isn't square. The height is perfect for little ones though and feels cosy and snuggly inside, without being too small. And the best part is that it's guaranteed for 1 year - just in case anything were to happen with it (you never know what kids are capable of!).

My two absolutely love playing inside, and because it's so easy to pop up and down once the poles are connected, I can get it out whenever they want to play - and keep it down and out of the way when it's not in use!

We unfortunately don't have a garden, but I know we'll be taking it over to Jack's parents as soon as it's warm enough, so it can be played with outside. The tent retails at £59.99 which I think is reasonable, especially with the fact it's an indoor and outdoor 'toy' and it comes with the long guarantee. And is available to buy from the Big Game Hunters website and Amazon. Definitely a perfect gift for Christmas!
