Preschool, Puddle Jumping & Learning to Play | #LittleLoves

This week has passed by in a blur of school runs, sickness and rubbish sleep. Our New Years plans totally went out the window when Jack came down with an awful bug (we're still unsure what it actually was), and things are only really getting back to normal now.

Thankfully there's been plenty of high points though, and I'm glad to be writing about the things I have loved this week, to remember it's not all been negative. Indiana started preschool on Tuesday, and I'm now officially a school run mum! We also booked our summer holiday which the littles are absolutely thrilled about.

We were so excited about going in holiday, we kind of just booked it on a whim. I probably should have put more research into it, by looking for a deal on somewhere such as Expedia. I will just have to remember for next time, as every penny counts!

I've been trying my hardest to get back into blog reading after my little Christmas break. There are so many wonderful blogs out there, I just wish I had the time to read them all! This post by Jess from Lilypod and Sweetpea really stood out this week. I think we've all been there feeling overwhelmed by motherhood and life in general. We're all just doing the best we can and that's all we need to do I think.

After a weekend in, we decided to blow away the cobwebs with a little walk. The walk actually turned into a 5 hour trip to town and the local park - tiring but definitely needed.

It was lovely to watch my two enjoy themselves despite the pretty cold weather. Puddle splashing, playing in the sand and generally running free. Note for next time though - remember spare clothes!

We've been watching loaaaads of films this week - anyone else's TV box full of them? Despite all the new ones Frozen is still a firm favourite. Even Parker's enjoying it and has been singing "let it goo" all week!

With Indie at preschool, it's been so lovely to spend some quality time with my beautiful boy. He's very much a 'I'm going to destroy everything, play with what I shouldn't and cling to mama' kinda kid, so I'm hoping this one on one time will help.

We're slowly making progress, and yesterday he actually sat with me for ages playing with his megabloks.

I think someone else was pretty proud of himself too!

Indiana was soooo excited to put her school jumper on this week. She's got her own lunch box and book bag as well, which she's skipped to preschool carrying every day. It's such a proud moment seeing your little one all grown up - my mum told me she looks just like me when I was little too.

And Lastly...

We are so thrilled to be working with Konfidence this year as one of their Swimologists. Parker has his first swimming lesson on Sunday and we are both so excited - Jack's going in the pool with him so I can hopefully get lots of lovely pictures. Keep an eye out on my blog to follow his progress!

  1. Ah, Indie in her uniform! Alexander started preschool this week also, and I feel like the uniform just ages them or something - he looks so grown up!! I couldn't get him to stand still long enough to take a good picture though! I bet it's great being able to spend some more one on one time with Parker.

Some of the best family outings are the spontaneous ones, as your winter walk shows.

    Have a lovely weekend!

  2. Aww she looks so grown up headed off to pre-school; I'm glad she's excited about it, it makes leaving them so much easier when you know they're having fun :)

  3. Ugh, hope Jack is better now. HOW cute does Indie look? Love seeing kids in their first uniforms, although I was a bit of a sappy mess when my son got his for the first time. Hope everyone enjoys the swimming, and you all have a great weekend x

  4. Indiana looks so grown up in her uniform, O didn't have one for his pre school so it didn't quite feel like school more a small nursery. It melted my heart when I did see him in his uniform when he started in reception. Parker looks very pleased with himself.
Yay for summer holidays, we booked ours a couple of months ago and I love having it booked in and something to look forward to. xx

  5. Oh the start of preschool is so lovely and who doesn't love puddle jumping. Looks like you made the most of time off. My littlest is in preschool now too they are off to school come September can you believe it? It's gone so fast for me. Happy New Year, popping over from #littleloves!

  6. Oh my goodness - how grown up does Indiana look? It must be so nice to see how much she enjoys preschool. Very jealous about you booking your holiday - I bet you can't wait! It's always nice to have something to look forward to isn't it? Enjoy your weekend xx

  7. She looks so grown up. My eldest is 3 and a half but doesn't wear uniform for her preschool. She loves it too. Bet you can't wait for your summer holiday.

  8. Aww Indiana looks so cute in her uniform, glad she enjoys it there. My little one would love all that puddle jumping! Hope you don't catch what Jack had. Have a lovely weekend x

  9. We worked with Konfidence last year and loved it - you'll have a blast! Indiana looks so cute and grown up in her uniform and I completely understand the need to get out the house after a couple of days indoors. It sounds like the trip out did you all good. So great to be joining in again this year! x

  10. Oh just look at Indiana in her preschool uniform! She looks so proud.
The puddle jumping looks like lots of fun, walks would take so long with my two when they were little if there were puddles. They would have to stop and jump in each one! xxx

  11. I seriously think I had the same awful bug Jack had was dreadful so I'm pleased he's starting to feel better! Sounds like a nice week puddle jumping is always a winner. Can't believe Indiana has gone off to preschool so grown up!!
