26 Weeks Pregnant {Baby Number 3}

11.10.17

With my ever growing bump, and big kicks and wiggles, there's no doubting I'm nearing the 'heavily pregnant' stage. And boy oh boy do I feel it! I'm seeing my midwife every 3 weeks now - a sign that things are progressing quickly. Anyone else agree?

I've also had my whooping cough jab (ouch!) and my flu jab now too. It's definitely been a busy few weeks!

HOW FAR ALONG?
26 weeks & 3 days

DUE DATE?
14th January 2018

GENDER?
Girl!

HOW’S BABY DOING?
I use the Baby Centre App to check on baby's progress - baby girl is now about 760g (as much as a red cabbage), and over 35.6cm. Her response to sound is growing more consistent as her brain becomes more developed - she may even be able to pick out mine and Jack's voices! Her tastebuds are now fully developed, her nostrils are beginning to open, and her mouth and lips are becoming more sensitive - how exciting!

WEIGHT CHANGE?
I've still not hopped on the scales, and I'm not planning to for a while either. I wrote a post this week about body positivity in pregnancy, and I 100% stand by it!

SYMPTOMS?
The biggest symptom I've been experiencing recently is dry and dull hair. It honestly looks and feels soo lifeless, and no matter how often I wash it, it still has no 'oomph'. I'm hoping it's just a pregnancy thing that goes away once baby girl is born - although I'm fulling expecting the hair loss to replace it instead...

I've also had some pretty awful vivd dreams these last few weeks too. I've never really had this symptom, so it really took me by surprise! One dream I had was SO real, I woke up almost in tears. In my dream baby girl was kicking so much she broke my ribs (I know right!), and then she needed to come out asap as her heart was frozen? Not nice!

SLEEP?
Apart from the crazy dreams, I'm sleeping really well. My body clock seems to have got into a routine of waking me up at 4am every morning for a wee though. And then once I'm back in bed baby girl seems to do her biggest movements.

CRAVINGS?
Nothing of note this week.

HOW I’M FEELING?
Pretty knackered if I'm honest, and sooo heavy down below. I'm used to having a high bump, but this time it feels so much lower. I also think my blood pressure has dropped again, as I had a funny turn on Monday where I almost fainted. It was awful!

MISS ANYTHING?
Being able to do my shoes up easily.. I must admit I'm missing the sun, but only because it meant I could get away with slipping on sandals and ballet pumps.

FAVOURITE RECENT OUTFIT?
I picked up this long-line cardigan in Primark at the weekend, and I'm loving it! It's added some colour to my usual maternity jeans and vest top outfits - plus it's super snuggly too.

BEST MOMENT THIS FORTNIGHT?
Probably seeing my midwife last week. I love listening to baby girl's heartbeat and being able to chat about all things pregnancy. She felt my bump too and said all seems to be growing perfectly so far!

LOOKING FORWARD TO?
In the next couple of weeks I'm off to The Baby Show in London, and then it's my sister's baby shower. It's going to be a lovely couple of weekends focused on all things baby!

You can see how this pregnancy compares to Parker's (my second) here.

22 Weeks Pregnant {Baby Number Three}

15.9.17

I'm now over 22 weeks through this third and final pregnancy, and I think it might be time to slow down already. Running around after two little ones just isn't as possible anymore! Back ache is creeping in, I feel exhausted soo easily and quickly, and this bump of mine feels huge all of a sudden...

HOW’S BABY DOING?
I use the Baby Centre App to check on baby's progress - She weighs almost 430g this week, and is around 27.8cm long - the size of a spaghetti squash. She's now fully proportioned like a newborn (just much thinner), and her fingernails and eyes are fully formed. Meconium (that sticky black first poo) has begun to accumulate in her bowel too.

WEIGHT CHANGE?
Not entirely weight related, but when my midwife measured my bump this week she did say my uterus felt as if it was in the right place! So I think so far, everything is growing as it should.

SYMPTOMS?
The worst symptom that has slowly creeped in is back ache. My goodness, OUCH. I've suffered with both previous pregnancies, so I was just waiting for it to arrive this time. My midwife has said I need to stop picking up Parker (my not so little 2 year old), but sometimes that's just not possible! Another not so glamorous symptoms that's crept back in is bleeding gums. I've suffered with this in both of my previous pregnancies too, and it's apparently really common.

SLEEP?
I'm now sleeping with a pregnancy pillow (I have the Theraline Maternity Pillow - review coming soon!), as it's becoming increasingly uncomfortable in bed. Tummy sleeping is a thing of the past too, much to my disappointment!

CRAVINGS?
Nothing really these last few weeks, I just want to eat all the food!

HOW I’M FEELING?
Seeing my midwife really picked up my mood this week. The back ache has made me feel soo rubbish, so listening to baby girl's heartbeat was a lovely pick-me-up. I'm also kind of wishing the next few weeks away so we can reach 24 weeks, and therefore viability. As it's such a big milestone in my eyes!

MISS ANYTHING?
Sleeping on my tummy :(

FAVOURITE RECENT OUTFIT?
I picked up this beauty of a dress at the weekend, and it's given me all the Autumnal feels! It's non-maternity from Primark - so not only will it fit once baby is born, it was a bargain too. I teamed it with my suuuuper comfortable maternity tights from Love Your Bump. I've never invested in maternity tights before, and I'm kicking myself. These are so comfortable, and they don't fall down at all!

BEST MOMENT THIS FORTNIGHT?
Getting lots and lots of baby deliveries! Our co-sleeper arrived, as well as the carrycot for the pushchair. I may have ordered a few more bows for baby girl too, which makes me far too happy. I can't wait to see her in everything!

LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Our holiday to Bluestone in just over a weeks time. It's going to be lovely to relax as a family, and have Jack there to help out with the littles. I was pregnant with Parker the last time we went, so it's mad that he'll be 2 this year!

25 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

26.4.15

Bump definitely feels/looks smaller from 2 days of hardly eating!
Reading my apps this morning as seeing '15 weeks to go' was crazy; that seems like no time at all! Finding the vegetable comparison size seems to be getting more difficult as some places I look say cauliflower and some say aubergine haha. Either way baby boy weighs roughly 660 grams and is about 35cm long (anyone else just compare this to a 30cm ruler you used at school haha?)!

This week I had my first experience of having to get up in the night to wee - I know I'm lucky to make it this far haha, but it was bloody annoying! Especially when I find it so hard to get back to sleep once I'm awake. Linked with this is that I've been needing to go all the time even if I've only just been haha. Pip must have been jumping on my bladder this week!

I saw the midwife on Wednesday and talked through all my worries and concerns with her. She agrees she's going to keep an eye on his size as she could tell he's a big boy haha. She didn't measure my bump which I thought was odd (they did at this stage with Indiana), but said everything felt in the right place. My urine, BP and his heart beat were all perfect so she was happy. She said I've just got to keep her updated on my migraines if they are coupled with swelling as it could lead to pre-eclampsia. She also confirmed my suspicions and he is all down my right side - and still is right now!

I thought I was finally feeling better until I was hit with a sickness bug yesterday. I didn't even keep much water down which was worrying. I'm feeling slightly better today though - I'm still feeling achy all over but I have managed to eat.. woohoo!

Hopefully I'll have nothing to say next week as I'm sick of feeling sick haha!
