20 Weeks Pregnant {Baby Number Three}

1.9.17

I'm now over 20 weeks pregnant, which means we're half way there!

Can you believe it?

I know I can't.

But with movements growing stronger by the minute, our 20 week ultrasound and more baby items bought, I do feel as if this pregnancy is really starting to sink in now. I'm absolutely loving my growing bump (it's the only time I really love my body if I'm honest), and I'm just so excited for the weeks to come.

HOW FAR ALONG?
20 weeks & 5 days

DUE DATE?
14th January 2018

GENDER?
We had our 20 week scan today, and we asked the sonographer to double check the gender. Baby is still looking girly, so we can relax a bit about all of the pink and florals we've already purchased!

HOW’S BABY DOING?
I use the Baby Centre App to check on baby's progress - From this week measurements are now taken from head to toe (instead of head to bum), so baby is the size of a banana at roughly 25.6cm. She weighs about 340g according the the estimate at the scan too. This week vernix starts to cover baby, which not only acts as a moisturiser but helps during birth too!

WEIGHT CHANGE?
Nothing of note this week, and if anything my bump has felt smaller quite a few days this week!

SYMPTOMS?
Braxton hicks have well and truly kicked in, and I now get them at least once a day - more if I'm particularly active or busy. They aren't painful but my goodness can they take my breath away sometimes! I'm getting up at least once a night for the loo which is a pain in the bum too.

SLEEP?
Thankfully still pretty good, although turning in bed is becoming trickier.

CRAVINGS?
Gregg's sausage rolls... mmmmmmm!

HOW I’M FEELING?
Apart from the usual tiredness, I'm still feeling really happy and well. I'm so glad that we're at the half way mark. But at the same time sad that this pregnancy is going by so fast!

MISS ANYTHING?
Being able to sleep at night without having to get up for a wee... it's so frustrating!

FAVOURITE RECENT OUTFIT?
I finally purchased some new maternity clothes, so I feel a lot happier with my current wardrobe. The sun decided to make an appearance this last week too, so I've loved dressing bump in tight dresses to embrace it. Because let's be honest, there's no waaay I would when I'm not pregnant.

BEST MOMENT THIS FORTNIGHT?
Ooh there's so many! Jack felt baby girl kick for the first time last week, and I can now see the movements from the outside too. It was also oh so lovely to see her again at our 20 week scan - it's crazy how much they grow isn't it? She was a little monkey though, so I have a feeling we'll have our hands full when she arrives.

LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Getting back into a bit of a routine now the summer is over. I've loved having both littles at home, but I'm craving some normality now - I'm hoping it will give me more time to sort baby bits out too!

You can see how this pregnancy compares to Parker's (my second) here.

22 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

5.4.15

22 weeks pregnant today and our baby boy is the size of a spaghetti squash (seriously who comes up with these things haha), and weighs roughly 430g at 28cm long. He's a definite mover now and loves to have a wiggle about in the evenings when I'm relaxing. I feel properly pregnant now and I'm loving my maternity clothes again!

We finally had our 20 week scan this week, when I was actually 21+1 weeks pregnant. The scan was great and baby is perfectly happy and healthy. I have a high anterior placenta, and he had his head snuggled under my ribs haha. Everything she checked was fine and I loved how in-depth it was - oh and he's definitely a boy!
Only slight concern we have now is how big our baby boy is! His head measurements were off the chart and the rest were very near the top too haha. We reckon he'll be taking after Jack as all of his family are 6ft plus, but we'll have to wait and see (I'll definitely be asking the midwife what she thinks though when I next see her though).

The only new symptom this week is sensitive (and absolutely enormous haha) breasts. They seem to be growing everyday and I'll definitely be needed to invest in some new bras soon. Just brushing past them sends shivers down my spine too, something I never had with Indiana!

The most exciting thing we did this week was purchase our double pram! With Indiana only being 20 months when he's set to arrive, and me not driving it was a must. We've gone for the iCandy Peach 3 Blossom in Jet - thank god for my bonus this month is all I'll say haha!

I'm unfortunately back to work after 2 weeks off tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll be back to moaning again next week - it's definitely work causing havoc with my back! We'll see in my 23 update next week.

21 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

29.3.15

This week has been an odd one; especially because for most of it I haven't felt pregnant! Baby boy is the size of a carrot now and is about 27cm long. He can now blink and his movements are meant to get stronger and more often.

We had a very busy week holidaying in the beautiful Bluestone National Park in Wales - Pip's first holiday! Indiana went on her first holiday at 20 weeks too, but I didn't have much a bump back then! There was a lot of walking, eating delicious food and relaxing which I think was definitely needed.

The drive was the worst bit and did play a bit of havoc on my back but I haven't really noticed it much at all this week! I definitely think Jack doing most of the hard work (pram pushing and Indiana carrying) was the reason; as well as lots of resting with my feet up!

Pip has definitely been very active this week. He's constantly kicking away and I've noticed his movements a lot higher up recently. I can feel my uterus has moved up and can usually find him hidden on one side. I can feel them quite strongly but Jack's still yet to feel even though I grab his hand to put it on my bump all the time haha.

We're so excited to see our little boy tomorrow at the scan (and to double check he's still a he haha). Fingers crossed everything is still ok! I will be back next Sunday for my 22 week update.

20 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

22.3.15

20 Weeks! That's half way and I still cannot believe how quickly these weeks are flying by. Pip has grown to the length of a small banana, around 26cm long (from now on they'll take measurements from head to toe, instead of head to bum which is exciting). Vernix is starting to appear on baby too! I was planned to have my 20 week scan tomorrow but as we're away in Wales we had to rebook - so my scan is booked for the 30th March instead, when I'll be 21+1 weeks.

I have absolutely no notes written down for this week, it's been pretty quiet and plane sailing. I spoke to OH (occupational health) at work on Monday, and they're referring me for physio for my back. Fingers crossed it helps, but who knows!

I've finally booked the last of my holiday too and have started thinking about maternity leave - crazy to be thinking of it again so soon! I'm hoping to start my leave at 35 weeks (the same I did with Indiana), but take holiday before - so I'll leave work actually around 32 weeks if all goes to plan. I'm in retail so being on my feet all day is pretty tough going, and with my back and hips aching like they do already, I'll be lucky to reach this I think.

The only other update is that I've actually got around to buying my pregnancy pillow. After everyone's suggestions I've gone with a basic v-shaped pillow. It's AMAZING already; I've been using it to sit up with, sleep with and I know I can eventually use it when baby arrives too.

As usual my bump update vlog will be live on my channel at some point today, and I'll be back next week for my 21 week pregnancy update!
