28 Weeks Pregnant {Baby Number Three}

26.10.17

So here we are. The third (and final) trimester. I feel as if the countdown is really on until bump's arrival now. Eek! I'm been constantly fighting with my emotions recently, switching between being oh so excited to meet our littlest lady, to terrified that WE ARE NOT READY.

HOW FAR ALONG?
28 weeks & 5 days

DUE DATE?
14th January 2018

GENDER?
Girl!

HOW’S BABY DOING?
I use the Baby Centre App to check on baby's progress - baby girl weighs just over 1kg now (roughly the same as an aubergine) and is at least 37.6cm long. Her heart rate has slowed down, she now has delicate eyelashes and her eyes can produce tears. Ooh and she may be hiccuping now!

I saw my midwife on Monday and everything is still going well so far. She's currently breech (which probably explains the large lump under my ribs!), but measurement wise bump is bang on 28cm. I had my bloods taken to check my iron levels, but apart from that it was just a routine check.

WEIGHT CHANGE?
I. Feel. Huge. This last few weeks I really feel as if baby girl has piled on the pounds, and my bump has grown loads. Although I still don't think I've put on my weight elsewhere... yet!

SYMPTOMS?
I've had a couple of dizzy spells again, but thankfully nothing that some sugar and a sit down couldn't sort. I just feel huge, heavy and reaaaally pregnant now. Rolling in bed requires a lot more effort, and I can tell I've slowed a lot when walking.

The biggest symptom has probably been bump's movements though. They hurt! Long gone are the gentle nudges and kicks. She's doing huge rolls and is constantly pushing against my ribs / hips / everywhere. I loveee it most of the time, but I've had to stop to catch my breath a few times now.

SLEEP?
As I mentioned above, getting comfortable in bed is proving to be much tricker these days. I feel as if I have to physically move my bump when rolling over! I'm also waking up to go to the loo again, after a few weeks of escaping it. Thankfully getting to sleep hasn't be a problem as of yet though!

CRAVINGS?
I'm loving anything chocolatey at the minute. Or biscuits. Mmmm.. a chocolate digestive would be amazing right now!

HOW I’M FEELING?
Oh so tired! I thought pregnancy was exhausting with one child, but it's a whole new level with two to run around after! I'm loving experiencing it all with them around though. They love feeling bump kick and giving it all the kisses. It's so lovely.

MISS ANYTHING?
Being able to walk without feeling exhausted after 5 minutes. Oh bending down - you really forgot how much you take advantage of it when there's no bump there.

FAVOURITE RECENT OUTFIT?
I'm excited to be working with Mothercare at the moment, trying out their new Denim Range. There will be a post up in the next few weeks. But so far I'm looooving having more variety of bottoms to wear - especially as my one and only pair of maternity jeans have broken!

BEST MOMENT THIS FORTNIGHT?
Getting the all clear for our home birth! Of course there's still time for things to change, but I am so pleased all is looking good for now. I really need to start looking into to hiring a pool now.

LOOKING FORWARD TO?
It's my sister's baby shower this weekend, which is going to be lovely. She's due just a couple of weeks before me with her first - a new nephew for me, and a little play mate for bump to grow up with!

You can see how this pregnancy compares to Parker's (my second) here.

35 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

5.7.15

35 weeks pregnant and I'm definitely feeling it! Baby is roughly 46cm, weighing over 5lbs (the size of a coconut which I don't understand haha) and is basically fully developed; he'll just mainly be piling on the pounds until he's born. His movements have really changed and there's a lot more jabs and pushing compared to rolls. There's constantly limbs poking out here there and everywhere which is quite painful at times, but so amazing to watch.

This week has been HOT! We've been experiencing a heatwave the past week and it's been hard to cope with, especially being this pregnant. I've not been able to go anywhere or do much as it's been just too hot to function. I've had to sleep with a fan on full blast all night just to try and cool me down, and I've been downing water like crazy. I'm hoping it will cool down a bit soon so I can at least feel comfortable in clothes haha, but who knows!

I saw my midwife for my 34 week appointment on Monday and all was well. My blood pressure, urine and baby's heartbeat (140bpm) were all perfect, and bump measured bang on 34cm. She confirmed baby boy is head down too, and has given him a good talking to to stay there haha. I'm now seeing her every 2 weeks so it's only another week until I see her again which is crazy - you know it's getting close to the end when those appointments get closer together!

I noticed this week that my boobs have actually starting leaking slightly! I never had this with Indiana so was really shocked to notice it while in the bath. Just another step to prove baby will be here so soon!

The week really ended on a high with my celebrating my Hen Do! I was treated to the most amazing spa day on Friday, and a very much needed pregnancy massage. I'm now feeling super relaxed, but I'm sure being back with Indiana will change that very soon haha.

I can't believe it's only 2 more weeks until we're classed as full term. One of these days soon I'll actually pack my hospital bag and get prepared - baby could really make an appearance at any moment now (not that I'm expecting him to come on time at all haha).

33 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

21.6.15

Eek just 7 weeks to go, and only 4 weeks until baby boy is classed as full term... scary! It's really starting to hit me now that I'm going to have a new baby in just a few weeks, there's no way of forgetting I'm pregnant anymore haha. Baby is just over 4lbs now (that seems SO big!) and is up to 44cm - the size of durian (again NO idea what that is haha).

One word to describe how I've felt this week is exhausted. I've literally got no energy left and just the simplest tasks leave me out of breath, and needing a rest. The pregnancy insomnia has kicked in again so sleep at night - even though I'm so tired - just isn't great. Then add in these hot, humid nights and sleep is just a disaster!

I have been absolutely boiling this week, and have just wanted the evening to come around so I can strip off and sit with my bump out haha (please tell me I'm not alone with this?!). My hands and feet have been especially hot which is more annoying that anything.

Earlier in the week Indiana brought me my doppler again so we had a listen to baby brother's heartbeat. It took me ages to find, and I was shocked when I found it so high up (nearly up in my ribs) on the right hand side. I can literally feel him in my ribs since then as well as I'm now pretty sure he's breech - cheeky monkey. His movements bloomin' hurt now so I'm hoping he moves asap!

Finally Happy Father's Day everyone! I've made sure to treat Jack to presents from both Indiana and bump this year. I can't believe next year we'll have two little ones to enjoy the day with.

31 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

7.6.15

Oh. My. Goodness. Just 9 weeks to go! I cannot believe we're in the single figure countdown already. I'm starting to feel slightly unprepared now, but with only today and tomorrow left at work I'm sure I'll manage to get things done! Baby is now the size of a coconut, at about 3 1/3lbs and is roughly 41cm long.

I feel like a broken record having to say I was sick AGAIN this week! I just don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm blaming these boy hormones haha. It only lasted a day luckily and Pip didn't stop wriggling all day, so I wasn't too worried.

The biggest symptom this week has been breathlessness! No matter how I sit, lay, stand I'm finding it much harder to breath. Just doing simple tasks such as going up the stairs has me completely out of breath haha. I can feel baby really high up now, so I think he's just squishing my organs that little bit more. I've taken to being braless whenever I'm home as it's way more comfortable too haha.

I'm seeing my midwife on Wednesday for my 31 week appointment. I also still need to rebook my whooping cough jab after I had to cancel it a few weeks ago! Hopefully all is okay with baby boy, although I have a feeling he may not be head down anymore... but who knows!

30 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2

31.5.15

Wow 30 weeks, just 10 more weeks to go which is absolutely crazy! It really feels like the countdown is on now; we should probably start getting more prepared haha. Baby boy is the size of a cucumber at almost 3lbs, and will be putting on 1/2 pound a week from now on apparently!

This week started lovely, the weather improved slightly so we got to enjoy the sun again (although it's swiftly left again haha). My bump is getting so big now my belly button can be seen through my clothes! My nephew had great fun pulling it and poking it, which I must admit makes me feel a bit sick haha. Indiana has also been loving her baby brother this week. She even ran up to me one day with the Doppler, popped it on my belly saying baby. It was unbelievably sweet and it makes me even more excited for them to meet.

Then on Friday my sciatica pain decided to come back with a vengeance! It's always down my right side, and leaves me limping if I'm out walking haha. I'm quite glad Indiana is still in her pram as leaning on it does give some relief when we're out.

The only other symptom I've been having for a while is pressure/pain in my bump. It's odd - it really feels like he's trying to escape out of my stomach, and I can always feel body parts if I touch my bump! I don't remember ever feeling Indiana this much so I'm not sure if it's because of my anterior placenta, whether he's bigger or if he's just in a different position! Any ideas?

We'll be in single figures next week! I will start thinking about my hospital bags, birth plan, etc in the next few weeks so look out for those posts.
