Lilah at 11 Months Old

20.12.18

This time last year I was almost full term, anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby girl. And now here we are, with just a few weeks to go until our beautiful Lilah turns one. Howww did we get here already?!

Lilah is still a petite little lady, weighing only 18lbs 11oz (at 48 weeks). She's fitting nicely into 9-12 month clothing and following her growth curve nicely, so neither we or the health visitor have any concerns. She is eating absolutely loads, and now she's only having 2 bottles a day, I think we need to introduce snacks as she seems hungry constantly! Since last month she has also popped another tooth through (a molar!), which I cannot believe.. she's going to have a full set in a few months at this rate.

Development wise, Lilah is definitely a walker now. She walks around the house flitting between toys, and as she can stand herself up there's no stopping her. We haven't got her any shoes yet, but I think we'll need to soon so she can walk about outside. That's not saying she doesn't 'talk' at all though, as she is constantly babbling / screeching away to herself.

This month is such an exciting one for Lilah, as we're celebrating her very first Christmas! She is already obsessed with all of the twinkly lights and pulling baubles off of the tree. Although I don't think she was so sure about Father Christmas - there were no tears though which is a win right? I can't wait to spend lots of time together as a family over the next few weeks, and I'm sure Lilah is going to be over the moon to have her daddy home for nearly 2 weeks!

I cannot believe that the next time I share one of these updates our baby girl will be one. Although I'm quite pleased I only have one of these flower photos to capture, they are impossible these days!

Parker's 11 Month Update

4.7.16

11 months ago I was 35 weeks pregnant. I remember feeling huge, tired and so ready to meet our baby boy. Now I have an 11 month old and I wish time would just slow down. I AM NOT READY! Looking back on Indie's update I remember writing and feeling the exact same thing. One is just such a big milestone isn't it? It's like a goodbye to the baby stage forever!

Anyway, onto the update. Despite my sadness of him growing up, I absolutely love this age. Parker is learning and understanding so much now, and everyday I'm sure he learns a new trick. At 45 weeks he weighed exactly 21lbs which jumped him up a centile (it's probably all the pasta he eats). I'm transitioning 9-12 month clothing into his wardrobe as he's getting so big now. He's not really chubby, just tall and has his dad's wide shoulders.

Routine is very much the same. Up at 7am where he'll have a bottle, breakfast, nap at 9.30/10am (around an hour), lunch, nap at 1pm with a bottle (between 1-2 hours), afternoon snack at 3pm, dinner, bed at 7pm with a bottle. We seem to have fallen into a trap of milk meaning sleep, but we're not too worried about it at the moment. He still loves his food and would probably eat all day if we let him. He's still sleeping on his stomach - preferably with his bum up in the air!

Milestones this month include learning to stand unaided for short periods, playing peek-a-boo by himself, pushing toys around (he is obsessed with cars at the moment), climbing stairs, using things to get to something else - he was pulling the string on a balloon to get to the balloon, and getting his big boy car seat! And as I was taking these pictures for this update, HE TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS!! It totally came out of no where, and he was taking up to 5 steps in one go - I am one proud mama right now!

He's very vocal as well now and knows exactly what he wants. If I even go towards the kitchen he'll whizz over shouting 'NUUUUM' repeatedly at me - this basically means food, and he doesn't stop until he gets it. He can say Nana, although we're unsure whether this is aimed at his nanny's or whether it's his way of saying Indiana. His newest trick is to pull all the washing down, while smiling sweetly at me saying 'uhh ohhhh' - very cute, but also very annoying.

We're fully in party / birthday planning mode and are nearly 100% ready. We'll be doing a DIY cakesmash at some point in the next few weeks too, so make sure to look out for the post!

Indiana's 11 Month Update

27.10.14

So that's it, we're on the final countdown to Indiana's first birthday! Only 4 weeks to go until I have a one year old. I still can't decide if I'm really excited, or really upset haha... probably a real mixture of the two. Indie's developed a lot mentally this month, you can see her really thinking about things and working things out which is amazing to watch

Weight
As of Wednesday Indie weighed 20lb (at 47+1weeks). She's still following her curve smoothly and is now between the 50th and 75th percentile.

Daily
The only thing that has changed from Indiana's routine is that she's decided she doesn't want an afternoon nap anymore! For over a week now she's been fighting it and just not having any of it. I've been giving her a snack instead and playing with her more to keep her in a good mood; she's just like her mummy and gets very cranky when she's hungry or tired haha. She's starting a new nursery as well as Jack got a new job. As it is closer it means our parents can help out more too, so my mum will have her Monday mornings and Jack's mum, Friday afternoons.

Bedtime
Bedtime is slightly earlier now that she's napping less. She now has her last bottle just before 7 and is usually fast asleep by 7.10/7.15! She has really grown close to her comforter this past month and will scream and moan if she drops it out of her cot (which she thinks is a brilliant game in the mornings!).

Eating
Again, exactly the same apart from maybe another snack around 4pm. She could probably eat and eat if I let her the piggy haha. She usually has less of her evening bottle now as she's having it earlier. She's really starting to understand what a plate/bowl and fork and spoon are for now. She will only throw it off if she's finished or all the foods gone. She is learning to put the fork/spoon into the bowl to get food too!

Sizes
We're almost fully in 9-12 month clothes now which fit much better. Everything is so long on her though bless her as she's got diddy legs (just like me!). I had to get her a pair of ugg style boots in 12-18 months as her feet are so wide; although they're still smaller than a size 2! She's in size 4+ nappies.
Milestones
  • She can now stand unaided for ages!
  • She took her first steps!!
  • We now have 4 teeth (and we think there are 2 more on the way)
  • She can stack her rings perfectly; and even did it in the right order haha
  • She can build towers with her mega bloks
  • She's talking SO much and constantly chats away to herself. Her new favourite trick is to drop something and then say 'uh oh'
  • Her problem solving/hand-eye co-orderation is really improving. She trys to fit shapes into the right places, puts things in boxes and takes them out, etc
  • She puts her phone to her ear and speaks!
She's becoming such a clever clogs, and every thing she does I'm so proud of! She's still only taking a few steps as her balance isn't 100%, but we don't think it will be long.
