An Interview with my Three Year Old | Indiana at 3 and 3/4

23.9.17

I haven't written an update on Indiana since she turned 3 last November. Nearly a whole year has passed since then, and she's already changed so much. Three is such a fun and exciting age, although it hasn't come without it's tantrums too!

So when I was tagged by Kate, who blogs at Lesbemums, in the 'interview with my...' tag, I was excited to join in. I asked Indie the questions while we were colouring, and I think I got some lovely answers...

What’s the best thing about being 3?

I like being 3 because I like being the best.

What makes you laugh?

Me *laughs* because I'm silly!

Who do you love, and why?

You (points at me), and daddy and Parker. Everyone!

What’s your favourite book?

The house one - she has a baby in her tummy! (There's a House in Mummy's Tummy)

What's your favourite food?

Broccoli - it's yummy!

What's your favourite song?

Old McDonald

What's your favourite outfit?

My dress. The strawberry one!

What's your favourite TV programme?

Mr Maker

What's your favourite toy?

My Peppa Toys. I like to make a birthday cake with them.

What's your favourite thing to do?

I like going to the park. Going on the tires and everything!

I think this is such a lovely idea, and I think I may try and do this every year to see how the answers change!

The Siblings Project | May 2017

15.5.17

I'm probably going to be amongst a sea of people sharing bluebell shots for this month's Siblings Project. But you know what? I am so excited to be a part of the cliche! These are some of my favourite photos of my two this year, and they remind me of what a lovely morning we had exploring the woods for the bluebells.

These pictures really make me stop and take a step back too. Just look how big they are! And I'm sure as each day passes they look more and more alike. The same golden hair. The same beautiful blue eyes. And definitely the same cheeky smiles. It really does make me wonder what a third would look like when that day comes. As Indie and Parker really are little peas in the same pod.

This month has thankfully been an improvement on last month. Indie being at preschool really does make such a difference - they're not under each others toes constantly, and they get time to miss each other. And my goodness does Parker miss Indie when she's there.

Preschool pick up is his favourite time of day, and he practically pulls me out the door calling for Indie. The second they see each other they both light up, giving each other the biggest snuggly cuddle ever. Usually followed by a kiss from P.

It also means they seem to enjoy their time together a lot more too. Of course they do still fight and bicker (that's just a normal sibling relationship isn't it?), but they have played together a lot more. Their favourite thing to do at the moment is to snuggle up together under a blanket, with a film or some Ben and Holly. Just enjoying each others company. And if I'm lucky I get invited in too!

The age gap between these two was definitely tough when they were little. But when I see them now; how close they are, knowing they'll have each other to turn to always. My goodness was it all worth it!

The Siblings Project | February 2017

15.2.17

This month hasn't been great for getting photos. Between the rubbish weather, Parker's teething and Indie being at preschool most of the week, there's been hardly any chances to get these two together! These photos were quickly snapped on my phone, during our visit to Pooh Corner at Ashdown Forest.

I love all the mismatched colours and their happy little faces in these photos though. February has been grey and miserable, so I love that their clothes add that well needed pop of colour. They really show just how similar my little pair are in size now too. Parker has always been a tall boy, and Indie a short little thing - so now they're practically the same height!

This month has seen Parker turn 18 months old, we had a lovely day out at Scotney Castle, and even more snow! Our weekends are full of ballet, swimming, running around getting things done and then trying to squeeze in something fun for the little ones.

Most of the time they play so wonderfully now - unless it's a toy Indie has particularly grown attached to.. then Parker is in trouble if he goes near! If either is upset the other will comfort them which is so lovely to watch. And the second they see each other after a long time (mornings, after preschool, etc) they give each other the biiiiiigest cuddles and kisses.

They really are little peas in a pod these days. Having a small age gap is tough, I won't lie. But I feel like we're really feeling the benefits of it now.

The Siblings Project | January 2017

15.1.17

I'm so excited to be taking part in another year of the sibling project. I absolutely loved capturing my two last year, and honestly think it's something everyone should do! Watching them grow and change throughout the seasons is just so wonderful, and lovely to look back on at the end of the year.

I cannot believe that January's photos feature snow! We only had a light dusting where we live, but a quick drive to our favourite NT property and we were greeted with fields of white. I'll admit my two weren't so please about my love of capturing them this month, and these photos are really the best of a very bad bunch... but they did love the snow.

This month has seen a huge change for my two. Indie now goes off to preschool three days a week, leaving just me and my littlest at home to play. She absolutely loves it but I think P is still adjusting.

He seems unsure about playing - too used to having a big sister who doesn't really like to share. The house is far too quiet for me too, and I'm actually finding it harder to get things done, as Parker is clinging to me a lot more without his partner in crime. I think we're both excited to pick her up when the time comes!

It's made the time they do share together a lot more special. They sit and cuddle and actually enjoy each others company a little more - I'm not saying they're best of friends, and there's definitely still plenty of arguments. But it's a start right?

I'm sure as time goes on and both adjust to our new routine, things will settle down. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see! For now I'm just looking forward to another month with my two little loves.
